Pediatric Waiting Room

Note the waterfall chair in the corner of the room that is painted like rocks with water streaming down it from the falls in the mural above it.  Even the Administrator wanted to sit in the chair and get a sense of the calm of feeling water and letting go for a moment.  With the lights down low, you forget you’re in a hospital and can relax and enjoy the experience of being in a rainforest environment.  All the animals sharing the space are subdued and you can shut out the hospital sounds that are just on the other side of the door. The best moment was when a patient came into the room with eyes wide and her mouth open and walked right up to the mother panda, stretched out her arms to hug her and then kissed her on the cheek.  Talk about making it all worth it!
