Pediatric Cancer Care Unit

  So when Jane Tuthill, suggested a circus theme, we weren’t sure we could hold down the crazy and often scary clown concepts and create characters that were more reassuring, comforting and fun.  But it really worked out.  We used a jigsaw puzzle idea along with the clowns and created the clowns to show emotion.  We incorporated music and humor in the characters and created interest with the 3D effects and colorful things to look at all down the hallways, in the patient rooms and even on the ceiling.  We recently revisited this unit and after almost 20 years it looks just as vivid as did when it was first installed.  We are proud of that!
